Our regional hub in Johannesburg, accommodates our supply and trading teams, our fuels and lubricants department, as well as our aviation team who supply over 25 airports across Africa with Avgas.
Puma Energy started its operations in South Africa in 2015, with the acquistions of Brent Oil and Drakensberg Oil. These acquisitions have led to a significant expansion of our operations in South Africa and we continue to invest in the market to grow our retail network and our storage capacity. We are in the process of rebranding the newly-acquired business sites – 58 were complete by the end of 2015, with the rest due for completion during 2016.
We currently operate a network of 141 retail sites, as well as nine depots with a total storage capacity of 4,900m3. Market growth over the past two years has been slow at only 1–2% but with annual consumption at around 28 million m3 of fuel, there is significant potential for further growth for our business in South Africa.
Outside our office door
From coastal Cape Town to the mountainous Hogsback, from world class wines to wild safaris – there is much to experience in South Africa. The highlight of our adventure would be a drive from Johannesburg up towards the Botswana operations via the African Las Vegas Sun City resorts. For South African sustenance you can’t beat Boerewors sausage and Castle beer.
