In Dubai, our focus is on mid-stream opearations, through our part-owned subsidiary Puma Energy Gulf (Gulf Refining Company - GRC) and a minority interest in Emoil Petroleum Storage Company. Both businesses provide blending and storage facilities in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the main free trade zone in the UAE and a strategic location for trade and industry in the country.
The GRC terminal in Dubai is our fourth largest in the world and comprises state-of-the-art storage and distribution facilities, with a current storage capacity of 630,100m3. It is equipped to handle LPG, Naphtha, Gasoline, middle distillates (Jet Fuel and Gasoil) and other products, safely and swiftly, with blending facilities onsite and two berths, capable of receiving the largest ocean-going tankers. The terminal is a vital element of our midstream position in the Middle East and Asia that enables us to carry on consolidating our position in the region, with a secure supply for our downstream operations.
The UAE first began exporting oil in 1962 and is currently ranked seventh in the world in terms of available oil reserves, making our storage terminal in Dubai a key distribution hub for shipment and distribution of petroleum products to the Middle East, East Africa and the Indian subcontinent.
