Our approach & commitments
We invest in local economies and support local communities to create the conditions for shared and lasting prosperity.
We’ve shown that our simple, inclusive approach can work around the world in frontier and fast-changing markets.
We empower people on the ground, but control and manage risk through our Group-wide management framework. In 2012, we made a public commitment to operate in a responsible, safe and ethical manner.
Policies and principles
Our sustainability policies focus on four key economic areas: development; health, safety and the environment; our people; and communities. Every Puma Energy employee must abide by these policies, and we encourage our business partners, suppliers and contractors to uphold them too.
We are guided by the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and apply the international and national standards and guidelines related to our activities.
We aim to:
- Comply fully with all applicable domestic and international regulatory requirements
- Prevent significant actual and potential adverse impacts on people, the environment and the communities in which we operate
- Maximise our contribution as a strategic partner in emerging markets
